A snowmobile is an excellent way to explore the wilderness on a guided tour. There are both half-day and multi-day tours available if you want to give your legs a break from skiing.

Alpine skiing

In the area surrounding the cabins, you'll find snow-sure alpine skiing with great variety and a vertical drop of 470 meters. There are a total of 35 lifts and 58 slopes spread across Storhogna/Klövsjö, Vemdalsskalet, and Björnrike. Lift passes can be purchased via Skistar, which has a reception at M-huset or through the app There, you’ll also find a wide range of equipment available for rent. Ski touring

Cross country skiing

For cross-country skiers, Storhogna and Vemdalen offer trails with stunning views of the mountains, reaching up to 800 meters in elevation. There are a total of 60 km of interconnected tracks, suitable for both classic style and skate skiing.

Ice fishing

For fishing enthusiasts, there are many beautiful tarns to explore even in the winter months, making it a perfect day trip for the whole family. Here, you can catch trout, char, grayling, and rainbow trout. There are also grilling spots and wind shelters at several locations, or you can book a guided ice fishing tour with lunch cooked over an open fire.

Dog sledding

Glide across the snow-covered mountains or into the mystical forest, guided by a team of swift paws. Bring your family, friends, or colleagues for a true mountain adventure. Choose from shorter or longer tours to enjoy.

Ice climbing

Ice climbing is available from January to March on the majestic Fettjeåfallet, a 75-meter waterfall surrounded by authentic nature. No prior experience is required, and you can book either a half-day or full-day tour for an exhilarating experience to remember.

Hunting

The winter season also offers hunting opportunities, such as grouse hunting in the high mountains. Hunting activities can be arranged for guests upon request. Call or email us for more information.

Fishing

Mountain fishing or ice fishing, there are many opportunities. Varggranstjärn, Storvåndtjärn, Rundstenstjärn, Järpbäcksdammen, Hanakamtjärn, Klövsjön, Djuptjärn in Långå, and more.

Swimming

When the sun comes out, there are several options for where you can take a refreshing dip. Here is a list of the best swimming spots in the area:

Hiking

There are several hiking trails in the area, offering different levels of difficulty. Don't miss the beautiful waterfalls hidden in the mystical forests.

Sångbäcksfallet (easy): About 15 meters high with a 1 km walk, suitable for the whole family.

Fettejåfallet (moderate): A 60-meter drop with magical scenery. Approximately 4 km of hiking.

Oxsjön – Storhogna – Fallmoran trail (difficult): A trail for adventurers, offering a rich nature experience. 32 km of hiking.

Mountainbike

In Storhogna, there is a mountain bike trail of just over 3 km, also known as the hotellslingan.

There are more challenging bike trails to explore, which you can try by purchasing the "Bike Map" for the area.

Bikes can be rented at places such as Klövsjö Stenugnsbageri and the Skistar Shop in Vemdalen.

Horseback riding

Have you ever dreamed of trying ranch life and authentic western horseback riding?

At Trumvallen, there are Swedish Nordland horses that will take you up the mountain for an experience like no other.

Golf

Two different golf courses are located approximately 10 km and 50 km away.

Klövsjö Vemdalen Golf Club features a scenic 18-hole forest course with stunning views of the mountains. There is also a restaurant, golf shop, and a short course with pay & play, perfect for beginners.
